Remote scheduling from Kingston inmedia
Kingston inmedia, the satellite-centric broadband solutions provider of Kingston Communications, have announced that it is launching a new remote scheduling capability for playout customers at IBC 2002.
The new system will be demonstrated live at IBC on Kingston inmedia's stand, No.1.439.
Kingston inmedia's in-house designed remote scheduling system allows a channel owner to adjust a schedule from the production office with just a PC and an ISDN 128k connection.
John Dunlop, Head of Marketing, Broadcast division, Kingston inmedia, said: "Many channels that do not feature live programming have contracts with their playout centres that do not allow for changes to the schedule during the 'lock down' period, which is typically 24 or 48 hours ahead of a programme airing. Kingston inmedia's remote scheduling allows channel owners to make changes just 4 hours ahead of the programme going on air. This flexibility in scheduling allows a channel owner complete control over their most important asset - their content.
"We expect that all of our digital playout customers will use our remote scheduling service. Many may only use it occasionally, but the ability to control the schedule from their desks anywhere in the world, gives the channel such piece of mind and operational flexibility that we believe our powerful remote scheduling capability will be yet another convincing reason for channel owners to choose to base their playout at our colocated media centre."
