CANAL+ automates scheduling and accounts with MSA Focus

The leading premium TV provider of films and sports in the Nordic region CANAL+ is to automate scheduling and accounts payable processes with MSA Focus’s Perspective.
The landmark installation is the UK-based automated traffic & billing expert’s first subscription-only system. Perspective is to handle financial information based on the broadcaster’s 750,000 subscribers.
The revolutionary Perspective Broadcast Management System (BMS) automatically calculates and tracks all payments owing and due, to save significant manual checking and management time. In addition, it automates scheduling registrations and interfaces with CANAL+’s accounting system to generate total financial calculations and amortisation in different currencies based on the number of runs, including subscriber-based royalty costs.
It also ensures CANAL+ fulfils its contractual obligations by controlling client agreements including flat fee, royalty fee, NVOD and VOD in a multiple territory and channel environment. Perspective manages all traffic including master-tape ordering, reception, duplication, archiving, return and physical tape-archive positions and controls all CANAL+’s scheduling including advanced scheduling of interstitial and promo material.
The system also controls all programme planning and uses large multi-channel templates in 16:9 format and 5.1 audio for efficient operations.
In addition, it generates play-lists for automation and subtitling plus basic information for EPG, website and publication systems.
