Radamec release details of diverse installation contracts
Radamec Broadcast Systems' have this year installed several robotic and virtual systems in venues including Sky News in London, the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh and Center TV in Moscow.
In London, Sky News returned to Radamec to update its original robotic pedestal system with an upgraded 5-camera system comprised of RP2A pedestals, supporting Radamec's HK435 compact, studio pan/tilt heads.
The transition to the new system was achieved virtually transparently with a minimal impact on Sky News' 24-hour News operation.
Sky's purchase also included a three-camera newsroom system comprised of overhead 431 pan/tilt heads, which were integrated into the touch screen control system in the main gallery.
The Scottish Parliament selected Radamec to furnish a system of twenty-four 431 pan & tilt heads to be installed throughout the debating chamber and six committee rooms. Radamec's multi-channel cue-computer system is integrated with a smart-card voting system that enables Members of the Scottish Parliament to be located for camera shots by the system, regardless of where they choose to sit. The video system automatically switches to the next speaker, requiring the 431 to maintain smooth camera movement during transitions.
In Moscow, Center TV, one of Russia's leading TV broadcasters, have taken delivery of two complete Radamec three-camera Virtual Scenario Studio Systems that utilise the Free-D position sensing system and Scenario's "Virtual 3D" feature. Virtual 3D can be used in conjunction with Free-D camera tracking system as well as with Radamec's RP2AVR robotic sensor pedestal.
The order for the system was placed with UK systems integrator Professional & Broadcast Digital Systems and was built and tested in the UK prior to installation in Center TV's Moscow premises.
