On-Air Systems strike £3M deal with Georgian Broadcaster

On-Air Systems, the broadcast automation systems company, have signed a major deal to supply their PC-based broadcast automation solutions to Imedi TV, a new private channel based in Tbilisi, Georgia, transmitting nationwide via terrestrial transmitters and satellite.
The deal, worth over £3million, will see On-Air Systems supplying over 50 software licences to Imedi TV to manage its entire broadcast operation.
The configuration includes two studio playout systems, On-Air’s flagship solution which provides all the functions of a master control room from a PC. Additional licences include a media asset management server with 30 client seats, eight scheduler systems, two computer graphics systems and two NewsPlay licences. On-Air will fully integrate the system, which also includes over 20 nonlinear editing systems, and provide training to staff.
On-Air CEO Peter Davies said: “We are very excited to be involved in such a major installation. We have worked closely with Imedi TV to provide exactly what they need to broadcast efficiently and cost-effectively.”
