Extreme Sports head east

The Extreme Sports Channel have announced a further expansion of their reach in various countries across Central and Eastern Europe, including the launch of the channel in the Czech Republic and the Ukraine.
An agreement has been reached with Intercable in the Czech Republic to distribute Extreme Sports Channel to their subscribers as part of their basic cable tier starting this month. In Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, NTV+ will offer the channel as part of their basic tier for cable and satellite subscribers as of October 2002.
Also in Ukraine, Voliacable has added Extreme Sports Channel to their digital extended basic tier and Versatel started to broadcast the channel in Moscow within the same tier.
Expanding the reach of Extreme Sports Channel further, the channel is now also featured on Oltenia Network Cable in Romania as well as SIA Netkom and SIA Baltcom TV, both Latvia, all within their respective basic cable tiers.
Phil Jones, Managing Director Europe, said: "With the Extreme Sports Channel going from strength to strength, we are very excited at being able to offer the channel to an even wider audience across Europe, including making it available for the first time to viewers in the Czech Republic and the Ukraine."
