Extreme Sports Channel launches on CanalSatellite

The Extreme Group have announced the launch of the Extreme Sports Channel, on France's premier digital satellite platform CanalSatellite in the basic package, with all subscribers receiving the channel.
Extreme Sports Channel is already available in France via Noos cable and beyond via most of the major cable and satellite platforms across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The deal represents a significant addition to the growing number of platforms broadcasting the channel with Extreme now commanding considerable importance to multichannel providers throughout Europe.
CanalSatellite, a division of the Canal+ Group, currently has 2.6 million individual and collective subscriptions, whilst recruiting over 300,000 new subscribers per year. The Extreme Sports Channel is now currently broadcasting via cable and satellite to over 50 countries reaching approximately 14 million households in 8 languages.
Following the launch, Al Gosling, CEO of the Extreme Group commented: "This is a very significant deal for us which really establishes us in France. With some of the best waves and mountains in Europe and the massive popularity and continued growth of action sports in France the channel is with out a doubt going to be huge."
