Tartan Smalls to open Macrobert Arts Centre

Tartan Smalls, the innovative short film scheme designed to encourage new talent to create short narrative drama for a young audience, will premier at the brand new Macrobert Arts Centre in Stirling on October 18.
Carole Sheridan, Development Executive at Scottish Screen, said: "The films are very good and I know they will appeal to their target audience. It is a real skill to write for children and to get onto their wavelength and these writers and producers have really come up with the goods. I am looking forward to watching Tartan Smalls with an audience of children at the opening of the Macrobert."
Claire Mundell, head of CBBC Scotland is equally pleased. She said: "Tartan Smalls is a really important addition to the short film world and CBBC Scotland is delighted to be supporting the development of talent in this way. The initiative is dedicated to offering opportunities to those who want to make great drama for children and developing young actors for the future in the process. I am delighted with the first year's films and am sure they will be enjoyed by kids everywhere."
Tartan Smalls was launched last November by CBBC, BBC Scotland and Scottish Screen.
