Tartan Smalls to launch at Dundee’s Discovery
Scottish Screen and CBBC Scotland are to launch the third series of Tartan Smalls at Discovery, Scotland’s International Film Festival for Children and Young People, to be held at Dundee Contemporary Arts, on Saturday September 18.
The three short films will then be transmitted on CBBC Scotland later in the year.
Tartan Smalls offers an opportunity for new and existing Scottish screenwriting talent to create exciting stories for this specialist and demanding audience. The cast and crew who shared the excitement of creating Tartan Smalls will be at DCA to share the experience of their films on the big screen which is set to form the perfect finale to the Discovery Festival.
Becky Lloyd, Executive Producer, Scottish Screen, said: "I am particularly delighted with the films this year as they demonstrate exceptional wit, imagination and creative talent. As for the filmmakers, the teams have approached the commissions with exemplary professionalism and an energetic confidence."
Simon Parsons, Executive Producer, CBBC Scotland said: "I am really impressed with the three stories this year, they are stronger than ever and I am sure children everywhere will enjoy them. The casting is fantastic and I am delighted that Tartan Smalls are going to premiere at the Discovery International Film Festival for Children and Young People."
