PPC Launches Commercial Arm

The biggest film marketing agency outside Hollywood, the Picture Production Company Group (PPC) has launched a new commercial venture to help develop and exploit in-house and third-party properties off-screen - PPC Enterprises.
The new division will extend brands into the online, interactive and mobile spaces.
Mark Hurry has been appointed as legal and commercial director of the venture, which represents intellectual property for the likes of Pinky & Perky and Monty Python.
He will spearhead the development and exploitation of PPC Enterprises’ brands extending them into merchandising, home entertainment and new media deals.
“Mark’s proven track record and high level of expertise in the licensing industry make him the right person to establish PPC Enterprises in the rights exploitation space,” said Steve O’Pray, Chief Executive Officer of PPC.
He joins PPC Enterprises from Granada Ventures where he was commercial director. In this role, he acquired the merchandising rights for Little Britain - taking them from the BBC to ITV. He negotiated deals totalling more than £28.6million at retail.
Mark is a qualified barrister and experienced media lawyer. As well as working in private practice at solicitors Mishcon de Reya, he has also used his skills in-house at Polygram, Fuji TV and ITV.
The PPC was launched 25 years ago as a film trailer house. It has since grown into and a full service creative marketing agency for entertainment and lifestyle brands.
Based in Soho and LA and headed by CEO Steve O’Pray, it employs a 130-strong team including writers, producers, directors, designers, animators and editors, as well as a large marketing and promotions team.
