New Stereoscopic 3D technology Showcased At Shepperton Studios

Individual workshops demonstrating the new generation of Stereoscopic 3D are taking place at Shepperton Studios on 25 & 26 January 2008.
Hailed by movie guru Jeffrey Katzenberg as 'the single most revolutionary change since colour pictures', this new medium has been made more accessible thanks to Quantel's post production equipment which has dramatically reduced the length of time in post as well as simplified the whole process of making great 3D.
The event is being hosted by Shepperton-based Axis Films, currently the only post production house in Europe to offer Quantel's technology. Targeting programme makers and technicians, the workshops will cover all aspects of 3D production including acquisition, post production, special FX and display as well as its benefits to film and broadcast.
MD of Axis Films, Paul Carter said: "The event will show how accessible and financially viable 3D has become for all levels of production whether it be sport, corporate, music or commercials in addition to the feature film market."
Quantel's technology provides all the tools, interactivity and speed currently available in conventional post now available in Stereoscopic 3D, minus the red/green paper glasses, sea-sickness and headaches previously experienced in viewing this dimension. On show will be the award-winning versions of their powerful Pablo colour correction and iQ DI systems as well as Sid, a brand new dedicated stereoscopic post production product.
This 3D event will be jointly presented by Axis Films, Axis Post, Can Communicate, Inition, Digital Praxis and Quantel.
