Leopard Films Invests In Its Post Production And Editing Facility

Leopard Films, the UK and US based content production and distribution company, has announced the recent investment of over £150,000 in its in-house post production and editing facility.
Leopard Films has seen a 150 % growth year-on-year in hours commissioned and after a new wave in 2007 of original and re-commissioned programmes from the UK's terrestrial broadcasters such as 'Cash in The Attic' on BBC1 and 'Farm of Fussy Eaters' for UKTV, the funds invested have already been covered by the immediate savings.
The company has also employed Phil Caton to the role of Post Production Manager, overseeing the new department with Lewis Davies as Technical Assistant.
Caton comes from his position as Post Production Coordinator at Enteraction TV, producers of branded content and channels such as Thomas Cook TV and ITV's 'The Mint'. Caton was also largely involved in a range of production coordination projects as well as managing post production.
James Burstall, CEO of Leopard Films commented on the move: "We have been pioneering HD productions in the lifestyle and factual entertainment genres in the US and therefore it seemed a natural progression for us to be prepared for when this format becomes more widespread in the UK. Our aim is to be able to offer this HD post service to other clients. Our core business of terrestrial TV production has also strengthened significantly each year and we feel now is the time to take control of the entire process under one roof."
The Leopard facility now houses six Avid Xpress Pro HD 5.2.4 edit suites alongside a slate of other kit which has been installed in the facility in the main offices. Instead of outsourcing edits Leopard is able to reinvest the fees right back into the business so that facilities can be constantly upgraded to keep up with latest technology.
