Cracking Christmas Spot From Finish Post Production

Finish Post Production has created a cracking Christmas commercial for LittlewoodsDirect.com directed by Knucklehead’s Ben Gregor.
The commercial featuring well-known fashionistas Trinny and Susannah sees the girls attempting to steal Santa’s rocket-like sleigh full of designer packaged gifts.
The girls however cannot operate the sleigh properly, crash and ricochet off the walls within Santa’s Grotto. Despite his protestations they still manage to dish out fashion tips aimed at his waistline.
Mark Gregory, Finish’s Senior 3D Supervisor said: “The sledge featured in the commercial was built as a full-size model and was shot on top of a trolley in camera, which was then painted out in Flame. As the sledge had to take off and crash around the set, we created and animated one in 3D for several shots. Trinny and Susannah were shot on chairs on set and then composited into the 3D sleigh. The elves and Santa were shot as plates, as was the snow.
"Flames and additional snow were composited in Flame. The set was extended upwards and a roof created to give us the interior of the ice palace.”
