Trade body UK Post set to visit Bristol

UK Post, the new postproduction trade body, is to visit Bristol tomorrow for its second ever regional event.
The organisation represents and promotes the UK’s film and broadcast postproduction sector domestically and internationally, with a particular focus on fiscal, legislative, employment and technical standards.
The sector enjoys a turnover of over £1.4 billion and employs around 15,000 people. UK Post acts as a lobbying group interacting with government agencies, and is aimed at giving its members a voice and offering support, promoting the sector to existing and potential clients here and abroad, and developing skills within the industry.
UK Post currently has 76 members and it is hoping to recruit more from the South West so that it can better represent the region. Bristol-based 422 South, Pink House Post Production, and Gloucestershire-based Snow Business are already members.
Caroline Norbury, Chief Executive of South West Screen, said: “This is a golden opportunity, not only to get together with like-minded colleagues from the sector, but also to play a part in shaping the future. UK Post is looking for new members and it is up to us to see that the South West is well represented, keeping our region at the forefront of future developments.”
Industry professionals are invited to attend the reception and networking session at Racks Wine Bar on St Paul’s Road in Clifton on Wednesday November 24, between 1845 – 2100 hrs.
