BBC Technology and Quantel collaborate on newsroom solutions

BBC Technology and Quantel have announced plans to collaborate on the development of integrated, end-to-end digital newsroom production solutions for the global broadcast market.
Combining the broadcast credentials of BBC Technology with Quantel's digital television products, the two companies will together supply broadcasters with a comprehensive digital environment for news and sports production.
This joint initiative will drive increased broadcast integration and automation based on resilient architecture for round-the-clock functionality. BBC Technology and Quantel are developing solutions which will comprise enterprise level scaling features, powerful search tools across multiple broadcast centres, integrated archive facilities and a fully integrated desktop experience.

One of the first projects that the two companies have collaborated on is the centralisation of video content for BBC News.
