CABLEready Acquires Domestic And International Distribution Rights For 'TimeTalks' Interview Series
CABLEready, the international television program distribution and development company, has acquired exclusive domestic and international distribution rights from The New York Times for its signature 'TimesTalks' interview series.
Thirty-four one-hour episodes that were filmed in 2006 and 2007 will be offered for all forms of television, video-on-demand and home video/DVD in the US and internationally during MIPCOM (Stand R31.17), as announced today by Gary Lico, president and CEO of CABLEready.
Taped by City University Television, CUNY TV, and shown throughout the five boroughs of New York City on CUNY’s channel 75, TimesTalks features in-depth conversations with well-known public figures, such as Joan Didion, James Taylor, Mikhail Baryshnikov, the women of 'The Sopranos', Madeleine Albright, Brian Williams, Larry David, Bob and Harvey Weinstein, the late David Halberstam and dozens of other prominent artists, entertainers and newsmakers.
“These interviews have never been distributed on television outside of New York City and we are delighted to offer a series of this caliber to a worldwide audience for the first time,” said Mr. Lico. “We have represented programming from The New York Times for more than two years and are excited to expand this valued relationship with one of the world’s leading media companies.”
