Content Television Signs New International Deals

Content Television, a division of Content Media Corporation, has concluded a host of new international deals for Back2Back Productions' 'The Royals', as broadcasters – including the UK's Channel 5 – secure the six-part documentary that provides an in-depth look into the world of the British Royal Family.
Alongside Channel 5, which will debut The Royals in a primetime slot later this year, further TV sales include a pan-regional deal with DirecTV in Latin America, Globosat (Brazil) and with Chinese broadcaster LIC. MTV (Finland), Foxtel (Australia), Sky TV (New Zealand) and Channel 8 (Israel) have also selected the series for TV broadcast and ABC in Australia and BFS in USA and Canada have picked up home entertainment rights.
Content Television distributes The Royals as part of a significant funding and production deal announced last year with the award-winning UK-based independent Back2Back Productions, which is led by David Notman-Watt. The 6 x one-hour series promises the definitive look at all facets of Royal life – taking viewers into the fascinating world of the British monarchy in all its grandeur, splendor and even controversy – from scandals, pets and funerals to weddings, teens and babies, including the recent birth of Prince George.
Greg Phillips, President at Content Television & Digital commented: "The world continues to be gripped by the British Royal Family – as proved recently by the global media attention surrounding the birth of Prince George – and this timely six-part series is quickly becoming a stand-out hit in our factual portfolio. Our collaboration with Back2Back has allowed us to be involved from the very outset in the development of The Royals, combining our expertise in the international market with Back2Back's renowned team of programme makers. This has resulted in a highly original, current and globally appealing series which we are confident will prove a must-see on primetime schedules throughout the world."
Cherry Yeandle, Acquisitions Executive, Factual for Channel 5 commented: "We are thrilled to have acquired The Royals. Channel 5 viewers will be gripped by this sneak peek into the wonderful world of the British Royal Family. The series takes us on an un-missable journey through the highs and the lows, controversy and intrigue of Royal life to give us a truly fascinating picture of the world's most famous dynasty."
