Welsh conferences announce VIP guests
Sgrîn, the organisers of Focus on Interactive and Focus on Film, have announced the names of the international VIPs of the Film and Interactive Media world who are soon to be coming to Cardiff to take part in the successive events.
The now well-established conference has a tradition of focusing on international aspects of the film and new media industry, and speakers of repute are invited to address the conference delegates. This year the main focus of the event will be on Denmark, a country that has become synonymous with the Dogma filmmaking of Lars Von Trier.
The industry in Denmark, a country with a similar population to Wales, has developed in leaps and bounds in the past decade and the Danish government have been to Wales to study the National Assembly for Wales’ policies and future plans for an audio-visual fund.
Another last minute addition to the Focus on Film Conference programme is Anthony Waye, who recently executive produced the new Bond film 'Die Another Day', which will be released on the same week as the conference. Mr Waye will be speaking at the session, introducing the new all-Wales location service, The Wales Screen Commission, to the conference delegates. Mr Waye will highlight the issues facing producers when deciding on film locations.
The Wales Screen Commission will also be launched in a star-studded high profile event held in Cardiff during the week of the Focus on Conference.
Focus on Interactive takes place on November 18-19 and Focus on Film follows afterwards on November 20-21.
For more information please contact Sgrîn on +44 (0)2920 333300.
