NATIONS AND REGIONS CONFERENCE TO FOCUS ON TALENT
THIS year's 'Television from the Nations and Regions' Conference will take place on November 29 at the Lowry Centre, Salford, Manchester.
The theme of this year's conference will be Talent, how it can succeed in the regions and the changing environment in the world of communications. Salford's new venue, The Lowry Centre, will provide setting for what organisers believe will be some controversial debate.
This year’s keynote speaker is Channel 4 Chief Executive Michael Jackson (pictured). Leading speakers at the conference include Patrick Loughrey, BBC, Stuart Cosgrove, C4, Marion Bowman, ITC, and John McGrath, Freeway Films.
PACT have chosen the conference to unveil a survey of 12 successful companies from regions of Britain, and representatives from each will discuss what contributed to their companies’ growth. Also featured will be new talent entering the market, new technology to assist them and a particular study of how the Celtic Nations might get more of their talent on screen.
Dedicated to broadcasting from, by and for the nations and regions, the Conference is jointly organised by the University of Salford, The Campaign for Quality Television and PACT.
