Revolver Entertainment Becomes 22nd Member Of FDA
The Film Distributors' Association (FDA), the trade body for UK theatrical distributors, has announced that Revolver Entertainment has joined the association with immediate effect, bringing FDA's membership to its highest ever level of 22 companies.
Revolver is a multi award-winning, marketing-led all rights film distributor which, since its formation in 1997, has progressed to become one of the UK's leading independents with a formidable track record in handling specialised titles.
Its impressive portfolio of theatrical releases to date includes British urban smash hit 'Kidulthood'; Guillaume Canet's French thriller 'Tell No One'; the first live-action movie ever shot, produced and exhibited in digital 3D, 'U2-3D'; and recent Italian drama, 'My Brother Is An Only Child'. Later this year, Revolver will release 'Female Agents' starring Sophie Marceau and 'The Wackness' starring Sir Ben Kingsley.
Revolver Chief Executive, Justin Marciano, said: "We believe that, in this fluid, competitive market place, now is the right time for us to take full advantage of FDA's engagement in areas such as training and development, anti-piracy action and its generic promotion of the new season line-up in cinemas."
FDA Chief Executive Mark Batey said: "In recent years, Revolver has launched an array of films with dazzlingly innovative, successful campaigns that have helped to stretch the boundaries of the UK theatrical market. We're delighted to welcome Revolver into FDA's broad-based forum and look forward to working with them on our generic agenda."
FDA's member companies, accounting for approximately 96% of UK cinemagoing, include: Artificial Eye Film Company, Entertainment Film Distributors, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Releasing, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros. Distribution and Twentieth Century Fox.
