Farm Group Commissions ATG Broadcast To Equip Audio Facility

The Farm Group has commissioned ATG Broadcast to equip a new audio studio at its Home facility in Soho. Home was London's first and only HD facility when it was founded by The Farm Group in 2000. It has since completed work on a wide range of HD productions from feature films to drama and multi-camera concerts.
"ATG Broadcast recently completed a major technical upgrade of our Edit 2 post production suite," commented Anthony Kirkland of The Farm. "The aim of that project was to replace the multiple equipment panels from various manufacturers with a single touch-screen device controller. The result proved much more efficient to use than the previous system, as well as freeing up space on the edit suite desk. This latest project extends the same concept of a compact unified control surface into Home's Studio 4. It centres on a Digidesign D-Command desk and Pro Tools HD3 Accel running on an Apple system which is our house standard for audio. We specified a large router to give us rapidly selectable send and return monitoring on each recording channel as well as full integration with the rest of the facility."
"Software-based control is increasingly popular both in offline and online applications," added Alan Pimm, ATG Broadcast sales director. "It is likely to become even more so with the accelerating transition to file-based post production, archiving and transmission. Equipment supplied and installed by ATG Broadcast in Studio 4 includes Pro-Bel 64x16 audio and 32x32 video routers, both under Morpheus control. In addition to the basic studio operation, the installation allows access to either of the two shared voiceover booths from any of Home's studios. The suite is equipped with Snell & Wilcox infrastructure, Dolby E surround sound processing, DK Technologies surround sound metering and Genelec audio monitors."
