St. Anne's Post Add Finishing Touches To 'Mr Miss Pageant'

‘Mr Miss Pageant’ follows the runners and riders in the lead-up to the world’s most fabulous transgender beauty contest which this year features the first-ever British entrant.
Gavin, a tool designer from Newcastle, is about to fulfil a lifetime’s ambition – to enter the final of ‘Miss International Queen', the Miss World event for transgendered people held in Thailand every year. Gavin, or Leah True as his alter ego is called, will be the first ever British entrant, but he will be up against some stiff competition. Unusually for a contestant, Gavin, has had no surgery and is heterosexual, and will be accompanied on the journey by his girlfriend Sue.
'Mr Miss Pageant' was graded on the Pogle Platinum. Colourist Sam Hollingdale said: "We were trying to even out the material and at the same time push the images to get the best look achievable. The programme follows Leah True in Thailand where the Miss International Queen Competition takes place so as much colour as possible was pushed through in these scenes. Back in England a more subdued, cooler look was used."
