First Light On Tour To Educate And Inform Young Film-Makers

First Light is hitting the road and organising events around the regions.
A networking programme of day long events has been put together aimed at sharing knowledge and best practice, as well as fostering relationships and developing partnership working between organisations engaged with young people and film.
Sessions will include speakers discussing traditional and new forms of film exhibition and distribution, signposting training/career/education opportunities for young film-makers and resources for cine-literacy.
Skillset will be on hand to provide individuals information and careers advice surgeries about maintaining and advancing professional skills. First Light will also be offering one-to-one funding surgeries for any queries about their lottery funding programmes.
The details of the first two events are as follows:
  • November 20 at The Tricycle Theatre (as part of the London Children’s Film Festival)
  • December 4 at Urbis (as part of Exposures, the UK Student Film Festival)
The cost to attend is £10 (payable in advance), which will include lunch. £30 travel bursaries will also be available.
