Film London holds events at the Berlin Film Festival

A seminar for European producers, Getting the Best out of London - an A-Z guide to the UK's production centre, in association with Peacefulfish - kicked off the Film London presence at the Berlin Film Festival.
The seminar explored the practical and financial opportunities that London offers European producers, including an update on the new UK tax regulations from leading film lawyer Peter Armstrong of Salans.
As part of the Berlin Talent Campus, Film London will be hosting a panel event to discuss its new micro-budget feature film fund. Microwave: Exploring Low Budget Film-Making, on Tuesday 14 February will include guests Richard Jobson ('16 Years of Alcohol'), The Manetti Brothers ('Plan 17') and Julian Richards ('The Last Horror Movie').
Six young producers participating in Film London's Passport Programme will also be in Berlin to meet international sales agents and pitch their projects. Running since October 2005, the Passport Programme supports producers to take projects from development to the big screen. The producers in Berlin are: Anne Beresford, Camilla Bray, Martin Carr, Antoinette O'Grady, Alex Lewis and Peter La Terriere.
London-shot short 'Summer' is also screening as part of the Official Panaroma section, with support from the Film London Film-makers' Festival Fund. Made under a Film London EAST funding scheme, with funds from local boroughs Tower Hamlets and Hackney, the film tells the story of friendship tested and reaffirmed. Producer Tom Abell and Director Hong Khaou will be attending the festival.
The Film London Berlin Office will be open until Wednesday 15 February at the London Room of the Berlin Marriot Hotel.
