Bradford Film Festival extend events programme
Building on the success of previous years, the Bradford Film Festival has announced an extended programme of workshops and events for the show.
Now in its eighth year, the festival will present a series of masterclasses from the country's leading professionals to explain the finer process of the medium.
There will be four masterclasses ranging in subject matter from writing to technical considerations.
Jack Cardiff (pictured) and Freddie Francis, each double Oscar winners whose combined careers encompass almost 150 years of film experience. They will explain the mechanics of cinematography in such classic films like 'Black Narcissus', 'The Elephant Man' and 'Glory'.
Movie veteran Tom Priestly, who has worked on films such as '1984' and 'Deliverance', will deliver a special lecture on film editing.
Bradford-born Steve Abbott, producer of 'A Fish Called Wanda' and 'Brassed Off' will offer a guide to production. He began his career with the Monty Python team in the 'Meaning Of Life'.
Bradford writer David Hines will conclude the workshop sessions with a discussion on writing. The author and playwright has had several of his works translated onto celluloid, and he will recount how his play was brought from the page to the screen by director Ken Russell.
The Bradford Film Festival will be held in The National Museum Of Photography Film and Television on March 8 to 23.
