Tern Television see double with BBC Scotland commissions

Tern Television has cemented its position as one of the UK’s leading producers of observational documentaries with two new commissions for BBC Scotland.
'Hunters Hill' (working title), filmed & directed by BAFTA award-winning David Peat, is a 1x60 documentary celebrating the palliative work of the Hunters Hill cancer hospice in Glasgow.
In following the inspirational tales of the community nursing team and some of their patients, this touching and insightful documentary aims to de-mystify the stigma of cancer, and shed a sensitive light on the needs of patients during end-of-life care.
'The Family Farm', directed by Anne Parisio is a 6x30min ob-doc series, takes a poignant look at the traditional family farming community of Dumfries and Galloway as it fights to save one of Scotland’s few remaining ‘market towns’, Castle Douglas.
These new commissions follow Tern’s BAFTA winning headline-makers 'Gutted' and 'Chancers' which brought issues surrounding the fishing industry and youth crime to the forefront of debate in Scotland.
Executive Producer, Tern Television, Harry Bell, commented: “One of the things Tern does best is to bring contemporary issues alive on screen through the people that live and breathe them. We are thrilled to be continuing our successful relationship with BBC Scotland with two programmes that we’re extremely proud of.”
Tern Television is one of the most successful independent production companies outside London.
The company has built a strong reputation for high-end landmark factual programming in the genres of factual entertainment, leisure, religion and observational documentary for the major UK broadcasters and will produce over 60 hours of television programming output this year.
