DGP choose Avid DS Nitris Version 8
DGP, the Soho based DVD and post production facility has reported that its latest technology investment in the form of the brand new Avid DS Nitris Version 8 system, the first of its kind to be delivered in the UK.
DGP has ordered and received this week a fully-loaded Avid DS Nitris version 8 system, with dual boot option for Symphony Nitris, dual-link RGB 444 and 5TB of raid-protected storage.
The new Avid facility provides sufficient HD bandwidth to manage all formats of HD (including the HDSR and HDD5 formats) and, in addition, DGP has a render station for the DS for super-fast effects processing.
Rowan Bray, General Manager at DGP, explained: "DGP has always been at the forefront of editing technology but this is a great advance that will enable our clients to work across platform on both DS and Symphony in every HD and SD format, on an amazingly fast suite."
The investment made by DGP in the technology was in the region of £100, 000 and the facility anticipates the new system will be put into use virtually immediately on an undisclosed project for a summer car launch.
This kit is the first of the next generation of Avid DS Nitris systems, launched at NAB, which are designed to facilitate this crossover between software facilities.
