Cardiff facility purchases Avid DS Nitris

Mwnci, Cardiff’s leading postproduction company, has purchased an Avid DS Nitris system, four Avid Media Composer Adrenaline systems and an Avid Unity MediaNetwork system with six terabytes of storage.
The Avid Professional Services team supported the purchase with project-management and arranging a factory acceptance visit to Avid’s European Logistics Centre to ensure Mwnci’s directors were satisfied with the workflow the equipment provided. The systems, which include the first Avid DS Nitris product installation at a Welsh facility, were bought directly from Avid, who will also provide technical support.
The extensive effects tools within the Avid DS Nitris system, together with the Symphony style colour correction tool, provide Mwnci with an ideal tool for its graphics and promo work. The Avid Unity MediaNetwork system provides the basis of a structured yet flexible workflow, which will allow Mwnci to move projects smoothly through the various stages of post.

Mwnci works on a broad range of projects including promos for BBC Wales, sport and light entertainment. Its documentary work includes the Ellen McArthur documentaries for the BBC, and the facility is currently working on the second BBC2 series of ‘So What Do You Do All Day?’ for Aspect TV and a 6 x 50 min BBC2 network series.
