Blue Upgrades To DS Nitris v.10 As Baselight 4 Is Installed

Post production company, blue, part of the Prime Focus Group, is upgrading its four DS Nitris edit suites to run the latest v.10 software and hardware as part of a major infrastructure investment programme.
The Soho-based facility has also just installed a Baselight 4 data grading system and is expanding its dedicated corporate facilities with the addition of two new Symphony suites. The upgrades are due to be completed within the next week.
Clive Mattock, blue's Head of Editing, said: "With the proliferation of tapeless media formats and consequently the need for more flexible workflows, we felt that upgrading our existing DS Nitris suites was an essential move, and perfectly compliments the recent installation of the new Baselight grading suite here at blue.
"The new systems offer compatibility with native raw file formats, faster processing and greatly improved functionality when working with 2k and 4k."
Simon Briggs, blue's Managing Director, said: "The upgrades allow us to continue providing clients with tangible solutions to technology-led workflow challenges."
These upgrades are complimentary to blue's existing non-linear editing platforms.
