Infinia Invests In Quantel eQ

Infinia, a leading Madrid-based post production house has purchased a new eQ editing / effects /color correction /mastering /versioning system.
Infinia has offices in Barcelona and Madrid and the new suite augments the resources already offered by the company at its Madrid facility in Boadilla del Monte.
Infinia offers production and post production services to the audiovisual industry in areas such as advertising, film and television. The company site at Boadilla del Monte runs to 11,000 sq meters, and includes three sets, seven mobile units, 100 TV cameras and a series of suites equipped to provide post production, effects and audio editing services. Infinia is also about to open a brand new facility in Madrid - called Infinia AD - to specifically serve the advertising and television markets. The move will further consolidate Infinia’s presence in Madrid.
Always an exponent of the most advanced technology, Infinia has an array of post production systems which are the systems of choice for the major production companies in the Spanish market. Infinia has worked on many successful Spanish shows.
A large part of Infinia’s advanced technology has come from a long tradition of trust with Quantel and its ability to produce the very best post production systems the industry could offer.
Infinia owns two Quantel iQ systems dedicated to 2k and HD projects. One of them is at the Madrid facility while the other is located at Barcelona’s IFilm, a company entirely dedicated to Digital Intermediate, and managed by Image Film Deluxe.
According to Pepe Abellán, Head of Post Production at Infinia Madrid: “Our decision to buy an eQ was based on the confidence we already had in Quantel and iQ. We needed a system that was both flexible and specialized. Our previous experience with iQ allowed us to move seamlessly to working on eQ. As both the eQ and iQ share the same GUI and the same toolset it meant our learning curve was negligible. And yet again Quantel has made us very happy.
“Our main work is for TV series but we also are asked to do commercials, station idents, promos - really all types of post production”, adds Abellán. “It is absolutely vital for us to be able to work in any format and at any resolution, even mixing resolutions in the same timeline. This is where the eQ and iQ excel. The QColor panel is also so easy to use. Quantel’s speed, precision, quality and flexibility are for me the advantages they have over other systems on the market. A high percentage of our work is fictional TV series, and this is where the eQ shines. Our eQ is currently at work on two series ‘Los Simuladores’ (HD) and ‘Génesis’ (SD), both for the Cuatro Channel. eQ does the conforming, color correction and deliverables.
The opinions of Directors and DoPs are very important, and they feel very comfortable with the new eQ suite due to the toolset which covers all their needs and for the confidence they have in our ability.”
