Call for entries for Irish Film & Television Awards 2005

The Irish Film and Television Awards have announced that the 2005 Call for Entries has opened.
Now in their third year, the Awards are a platform to honour and celebrate outstanding Irish creativity, talent and excellence, both in Ireland and internationally.
Following on from the immense success of the previous two years, this year's ceremony looks set to see the best and brightest talent in Irish film and television honoured for achievements in their field both nationally and internationally.
This year there are 30 Jury categories of Awards, which is an increase of four from 26.
New and revised categories are: separate Best News Programme and Best Current Affairs Programme; Best Irish Language is now Best Documentary in the Irish Language; new category Best Director of a TV Drama / TV Drama Series; and the separation of the Best Supporting Actor and Actress categories to four distinct categories: Best Supporting Actor in TV, Best Supporting Actress in TV, Best Supporting Actor in Film, Best Supporting Actress in Film.
These 30 jury categories are in addition to the very popular People's Choice Awards, and the Lifetime Achievement Award. Organised by the Irish Film and Television Network (IFTN), the deadline for submissions is Tuesday August 2 2005
At the announcement of the Call for Entries 2005, IFTN CEO Aine Moriarty said: "Now in its third year, the Awards celebrate the best in production from the previous 12 months. There has been a very interesting mix in both film and television in 2005, and we can look forward to a very exciting ceremony in November."
The Awards ceremony will be held in Dublin on 5th November 2005.
