5D EXPANDS PARTNERSHIP WITH QUANTEL

DEVELOPERS of visual effects tools 5D are to further expand the scope of their strategic partnership with Quantel.
5D are supporting Quantel’s new iQ post-production solution with 5D Monsters image-processing effects and the planned integration of 5D Cyborg, 5D’s new media-workflow environment.
Sales and Marketing Director of 5D Marc Dando said: “We’ve developed a strong partnership with Quantel, and look forward to continuing this success by providing Quantel users with fast and easy access to 5D technologies.”
5D have worked closely with Quantel systems since 1998, when they became one of the first software developers to sign up with Quantel’s ‘open initiative’.
Pioneering collaboration has provided Quantel with access to image-processing effects for the first time, and led to the development of 5D Masher, the off-line rendering system that provides Quantel systems with access to 5D’s Monster range and other third party tools.
The first fruits of the new collaboration will be shown at Quantel’s stand at IBC 2000.
