MULTIMEDIA TELEVISION REFUTES STEPSTONES CLAIM

MULTIMEDIA Television, operators of jobchannel.tv have refuted claims that StepStone, an online recruiting company are to become the first online recruitment service to offer job opportunities via television in the UK.
Multimedia Television’s 60,000 job database is already available to 5 million Sky subscribers on Sky Text, and it will be launched on the UK’s interactive digital service, Open, on October 2.
Chairman of Multimedia Television Michael Deeny said: “It is publicly known that we are already on Sky Text and about to launch on Open – which will be before StepStone launches their offering. We are surprised by the information issued by StepStone on September 18 claiming that they will be the first company to offer an interactive digital television job opportunities service in the UK. It genuinely calls in to question the legitimacy of any marketing claims made by the company.”
In addition to the launch on Open, jobchannel.tv will be launching their service on the Telewest cable network in the UK later this year.
