DGP beefs up design department

DGP, the Soho based DVD and postproduction facility has announced the recruitment of a new key staff member who joined the design department of the 65 people strong company this month.
Ben Rasmussen is to take the role of a Senior Designer joining a team of four other designers and compositors.
This new recruit brings the recent staffing drive at DGP to 10 in the last quarter, coinciding with DGP’s 10th anniversary celebrated this October.
Rasmussen hails from streaming media and DVD authoring outfit, Stream Digital Media, and has been appointed specifically to strengthen the team behind DGP’s extensive and growing DVD and UMD departments.
Rasmussen brings an extra arrow in his quiver with specialised skills in 3D and graphics which DGP intends to employ across all departments. Rasmussen has worked across all genres and formats with recent credits including the ‘Take That’ reunion DVD and David Bowie’s ‘Love You ‘Til Tuesday’.
Rasmussen said: “Joining DGP allows the perfect environment to further my career by having access to work across such a diverse range of projects and departments – from traditional broadcast to brand new formats such as UMD, HD DVD and Blu-ray, DGP offers great opportunity to use my skills in a variety of ways.”
Rowan Bray, General Manager at DGP, said: “Ben will make a great addition to our already-successful Graphics team. He has a great eye and excellent commercial skills. This addition to our team further meets client demand by offering 3D design at a greater level than before.”
