ATG Broadcast reports successful end of year results

Firmly settled in its new 1,150 square metre premises, systems integrator ATG Broadcast reports another highly successful year, including major overseas and UK contracts currently under NDA.
New appointments to the systems integration team included Alastair MacDonald as Proposals Manager and Simon Walder as Broadcast Engineer.
Sales Director Alan Pimm said: "Today's systems marketplace is still firmly SD but with an increasing eye towards HD future-proofing. Our first major contract during 2005 was to digitise the entire production and transmission of television services for Services Sound & Vision Corporation. SSVC delivers two television streams for UK armed forces. British Forces Broadcasting Services 1 and 2 provide a lifeline to UK military personnel stationed around the world, enabling them to watch highlights from the major UK broadcast television channels. Programmes are ingested off-air or via line feeds into two Quantel sQ Servers under IBIS automation. A 120 terabyte ADIC Scalar 2K Archive Library allows files to be archived either as a manual process or according to archive rules set within IBIS ServerBase.
"The SSVC system includes seven Quantel QCut workstations, three of these being used in preparing material for the BFBS News programme BFBS Reports. The other QCuts are employed in preparing trails and promotional content. Three Quantel QEdit Pro edit seats are used for finishing material ready for transmission. To streamline the news production process, we installing a DaletPlus Newsroom system. Web access allows journalists to input and review scripts and programme material from anywhere in the world. This is a true end-to-end digital system. Quantel's Frame Magic technology enables files to be streamed at very high speed between servers using IBIS intelligent workflow methodologies, a key element to the success of our bid."
