Harris appoints head of new Europe Broadcast Systems
Harris Corporation have announced the appointment of David G. Stephenson as VP for Europe Broadcast Systems.
Headquartered at the company's operation in Huntingdon, UK, Harris say that the Europe Broadcast Systems has been established as a separate business unit to better focus the company's organization on its European customer base.
Europe Broadcast Systems will be responsible for all development, management, manufacturing, sales and strategic marketing of Harris European-standard radio and television transmitters, related products, systems and services.
Stephenson, who most recently served as vice president, strategic business development and marketing at Harris' RF Communications Division in Rochester, N.Y., joined Harris in 1997. Previously, he spent nine years in senior management with Rohde & Schwarz, in both the U.S. and Canada. A Canadian citizen, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering physics from the Royal Military College, a Master of Science degree in engineering from the University of Toronto and a master's degree in business administration from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. He is fluent in French and German languages. He began his career as an officer with the Canadian Defence Forces, rising to the rank of major.
"We have structured the organization to focus on each of our key customer segments," said Jeremy Wensinger, president, Harris Broadcast Communications Division. "We will continue to develop solutions to help our customers improve operating efficiencies and quality. I believe this will be a very positive step for Harris and our customers."
Harris Broadcast Communications Division is one of five divisions within Harris Corporation, an international communications equipment company focused on providing assured communications solutions for government and commercial customers in more than 150 countries.
