Boxer Systems completes Teachers’ TV editing facility

Boxer Systems has announced the successful completion of a new collaborative editing facility for Teachers' TV, the professional development channel for those in the education community, which launched onto the UK’s digital platforms on February 8 2005.
The project had to deliver against very tight deadlines and meet the objectives set by the Director of Channel Management, Clare Healy, who said: “We needed to achieve the same quality standards as a public service broadcaster but at the budget of a digital channel. The implementation of Teachers’ TV in-house broadcast facilities is intended to set a new quality benchmark for low cost programming. We chose Boxer Systems since they fully understood Teachers’ TV’s business needs, the price parameters and could deliver in the aggressive timescales set.”
The Teachers’ TV postproduction facility in the heart of London comprises three non-linear edit systems sharing storage and voice-over resources to offer a highly flexible and cost effective production environment. Flexible media management software allows for tight controls to be placed on what material editors can use, and what browse material production staff can view on their desktops.
Boxer’s team of engineers and designers have a wide range of experience in Broadcasting, Information Technology and Systems Integration making them the ideal choice to offer a solution based on commodity technology providing the best balance of performance versus price.
