Tobis introduces HD to Portugal with da Vinci's 2K Plus

da Vinci Systems has announced that with the purchase of the first 2K Plus image enhancement system in Portugal, Lisbon-based Tobis Portuguesa Company now features the city's foremost high-definition telecine suite.
The 2K Plus will be used as part of Tobis' new venture into the TV commercial market and complements the company's existing film laboratory.
"We were familiar with da Vinci from our lab business, and we've always had positive experiences with our equipment and strong relationships with the da Vinci staff," said Francisco Amaral, New Operations Manager at Tobis. "As we planned to venture deeper into the advertising market, we knew we would have to offer the highest level of creative control available. Our choice of the 2K Plus will allow us to offer our clientele toolsets that until now have been unavailable in Portugal."
With a brand-new design from top to bottom, the HD telecine suite features a client-friendly ambience as well as the latest creative tools for developing state-of-the-art advertisements. The 2K Plus is an extension of da Vinci's Emmy Award-winning 2K product, a real-time color enhancement system with support for multiple standards and resolutions.
The 2K Plus builds on the 2K's primary and secondary processing, PowerWindows, and custom curves, with the addition of an enhanced key bus, improved gamma curve adjustment, and dedicated Kilovector key outputs.
Tobis' 2K Plus system is complemented by a Cintel DSX Telecine including Oliver and Grace tools.
