Da Vinci Systems names new VP of Engineering

Da Vinci Systems has announced the appointment of David Johnson as Vice President of Engineering.
Responsible for all of the company's engineering and technical operations, Johnson brings extensive experience and success in directing the development of innovative and award-winning products to his new role with da Vinci.
"With an excellent track record for strategically planning and pioneering new technologies, David will be a very strong asset to the da Vinci team," said John Peeler, da Vinci's CEO. "Our leadership position in the film and video colour enhancement industry provides many opportunities to capitalise on the latest industry trends and developments. David has shown that he is well suited to guide da Vinci in engineering new systems that anticipate and answer the real-world demands of post-production facilities."
In his new role, Johnson will be responsible for overseeing the entire development process of da Vinci's image enhancement and restoration product families, as well as managing the company's engineering team.
Prior to joining da Vinci, Johnson served as Director of Customer Solutions and Chief Solutions Architect at Itronix, where he was responsible for helping the company establish worldwide market share leadership and planning technologies for future product applications, bundles, and alliances.
During his seven years with Itronix, he also held high-level positions in strategic alliances and wireless products.
A graduate of Kansas State University, Johnson has held numerous leadership roles in the engineering field over the past 25 years.
