UK Post & Services Launch Database Resource 'MediaBase'
UK Post & Services, the independent trade body that represents the film and broadcast service industry, has announced the launch of MediaBase.
The easy to use online resource is a searchable database that focuses entirely on production and post-production activity in the UK. Having been developed over an 18-month period UK Post & Services Members are now being asked to submit project information to the site.
MediaBase revolves around the ‘Production’ on a television programme, feature film or commercial. The facility simply attaches themselves and/or people to the individual productions they worked on and can also add any awards that they have won for this production. This resource will be useful for producers worldwide, and also for production companies abroad looking for UK facilities or talent.
Designed intuitively for ease of use MediaBase can be used to find out what is currently in production or post-production, to see who did what on the project and where they did it. In addition users can view a full production history by facility, includes studios, visual effects, special effects, post-production, audio, camera and lighting companies, and individual profiles and contact details.
MediaBase has been created by industry trade body UK Post & Services with the generous support of the UK Film Council. It features the work of its member companies.
"MediaBase was created to fill the gap where producers can view who did what on each project, whether film, tv programme or commercial," said Gaynor Davenport, Chief Executive, UK Post & Services. "With an intelligent database construction the site will be easy to use for both member companies inputting the information and people using it. We look forward to seeing MediaBase become an important tool for the production community."
