IBC ANNOUNCE NEW INTERACTIVE TV SECTION
‘CRIME Scene Investigation’ (CSI) and ‘Who Want’s To Be A Millionaire’ are among the high profile nominees for IBC’s first Interactive TV Awards in Amsterdam.
The Festival attracted a record 304 entries from 28 countries including a phenomenal 78 entries for its new Interactive TV section.
The list of 57 programmes selected for this year’s Festival was announced by Nombre d’Or Festival President, Paul Kafno, at a reception at the Banff Television Festival in Canada.
Kafno said: "Interactive TV is already starting to prove its value in creating compulsive entertainment for viewers and IBC is thrilled at the response to our first awards in this area. Both the quality and quantity of the entries took us by surprise, with leading networks and producers such as CBS, NBC, BSkyB, BS-I, MTV Networks, BBC, Sony and Endemol entering, as well as key innovators in the field such as Celador, Victoria Real, Spiderdance and Two Way TV.”
IBC's commitment to Interactive Television and Convergence continues in September with a series of Conference Sessions at the event produced by Ferhan Cook on the strategic, creative and business implications of interactive TV and convergence, which will be specifically aimed at producers. (CD)
