Two Way TV opens up its interactive technologies

Two Way TV is helping to speed up the roll-out of advanced interactive television by making its unique Ark enhanced television technologies available to the industry.
It has agreed its first network deal with Telewest to supply Ark to its broadband television platform.
Two Way TV intends to be the first port of call for broadcasters, producers, interactive television developers and network operators who want to reap the benefits that tightly synchronised interactivity can bring.
Ark technologies are already driving interactive programming from the BBC, Channel 4 and Sky Sports on the Sky Digital network.
Two Way TV clients can use Ark systems and tools to develop interactive TV applications in-house or through third party developers. Additionally, Two Way TV can offer design, development and integration services.
Two Way TV Chief Executive Matthew Tims said: "We receive an enormous number of enquiries from around the world about how best to introduce live interactivity to popular television programmes. Two Way TV was the first company to take this kind of interactivity seriously so we have an unrivalled level of expertise to back-up our proven technical solutions. We already have some great partners running groundbreaking interactive programming using our Ark systems and there are more to come."
Gavin Patterson, Commercial Director, Telewest Broadband, commenting on its Ark"· licensing agreement, said: "Two Way TV's technology and knowledge of our platform will help us to ensure we will provide excellent interactive capability to broadcasters and content providers."
In a separate deal, world leading automated broadcast systems provider Chyron is also to offer Two Way TV enhanced television functionality for its customers.
Both these agreements follow the recent news that Two Way TV technology will be integrated into future versions of the Liberate Technologies middleware platform.
