Chyron secures major order with Bayerische Rundfunk

Chyron Corporation has announced that Munich-based Bayerische Rundfunk (BR) has placed a major order with the company for 25 Duet LEX graphics systems and 50 Avid plug-ins of the company’s Lyric software (Lyric PlugIn).
BR is one of the largest affiliates of German public service broadcaster ARD, and this contract was placed after a series of "exhaustive tests" were carried out on behalf of the ARD by BR.
BR, which broadcasts via cable and satellite as well as terrestrially, is replacing its existing character generators with Chyron Duet LEXs right across its extensive operations. Duet LEX brings outstanding graphics with real-time animation to applications that require the highest quality yet at an economical price. The Duets are a mixture of single and dual-channel configurations and are supplied with Chyron’s Lyric software tool.
The 50 Lyric PlugIns enable BR to integrate Chyron’s Lyric graphics/animation software and Avid’s NLE system editors. The Lyric PlugIn allows Avid operators to dynamically create text, graphics and templates from directly within the Avid user interface to produce lower thirds, rolls, crawls and animations, which then become components of the Avid timeline.
Graphic content may be seamlessly shared between the ‘on-line’ Duet LEX systems and the ‘off-line’ Avid editors thus making the use of graphics as efficient as possible with BR’s operations.
The contract also includes extensive product training, with delivery and installation of the products already underway. All aspects of this prestigious contract are being handled by Chyron GMBH, Wiesbaden.

Over recent years, Chyron has secured a range of key contracts across Germany including sales to MDR Leipzig, ZDF, Studio Hamburg and Deutsche Welle Berlin, among many others.
