‘Voice for the regions’ joins UK Post
Bryn Roberts, Managing Director of the Welsh Barcud Derwen Group, has been invited to join the Board of UK Post - the new association representing the film and broadcast postproduction and effects industry – to bring a strong regional focus to the organisation.
Gaynor Davenport, the newly appointed CEO of UK Post said of the appointment: “It is vital that UK Post represents, supports and promotes all our members and having a strong voice for the regions is key to this. Bryn will be a natural champion for the regions ensuring that regional issues are firmly at the forefront of UK Post’s agenda. It is a pleasure to have him on board.”
Bryn Roberts said, “When you consider that half of the 15,000 employed in postproduction are based outside London it is imperative that there’s a voice representing these people on UK Post. I’m honoured to be the first person to do so and hopefully will be joined by others in the future.
“Although there are issues which are common within London and outside the M25 in postproduction there are problems that exist in the Nations and Regions that are not as prevalent in the Capital – for example I believe that broadcasters keep a far higher percentage of work in-house outside London.
“I’m keen for people in the industry outside London to contact me with their views on the role of UK Post.”
