SABC opts for Chyron systems

Chyron has announced a significant order from the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) for six Duet LEXs, which will provide the main transmission for all three of SABC's television stations.
The systems were sold through Chyron's South African partner, Telequip.
SABC's three stations deal with the diversity of South African culture addressing each of the countries languages. SABC 1, a youth channel broadcasts in both Nguni and English, SABC 2, a family focussed channel broadcasts in Sotho, Afrikaans and English, and the third channel, SABC 3, has a cosmopolitan focus broadcasting in English only.
The Duet LEXs will all run Lyric, Chyron's highly advanced graphics creation and playback application, allowing control room operators to design, change and implement tailored graphics in real-time. Lottery results, special crawls and animated logos can also be played out in real-time by the Duet LEXs.
As part of the order, SABC has also purchased further Duet PCI+ family products providing an analogue clock application for each of the channels.
