Pyser-SGI receives Fujinon order from BBC Outside Broadcasts

Exclusive UK/Ireland distributor Pyser-SGI Limited has received an order for five Fujinon XA72x9.3BESM high definition telephoto lenses, plus accessories, from BBC Outside Broadcasts.
The lenses complement the BBC’s existing fleet of field lenses, adding HD capability. Accessories with the order comprise five full servo kits and five EPF-226A optical protection filters.
The high magnification, wide angle XA72x lenses will be used for all major sporting and other major OB events, including operation on hoists for shots ranging from general views to close-ups. The wide angle focal length of 9.3 mm makes them particularly useful for panoramic shots.
Operational features of the Fujinon XA72x include dust proof anti-fog design, and a zoom speed of less than one second end-to-end, with exceptionally quiet operation. The lens also features FIND capability, Fujinon’s built-in digital diagnostics system.
Focal length of the XA72x9.3BESM is from 9.3 to 670 mm, increasing to 1340 mm with the built-in 2x extender. Maximum aperture ratio remains constant at F1.7 up to 328 mm, extending to F3.5 at full telephoto.
