Pinnacle Systems streamlines graphics at new CNBC studios

Pinnacle Systems has announced that its Deko networked character generators have been deployed throughout CNBC's new studio facilities in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, USA, serving as the backbone for on air graphics production and on air play-out.
Coupled with Pinnacle Thunder clip/still servers and DVEXCEL DVEs, the systems provide CNBC with an efficient end-to-end workflow that helps CNBC speed news to air.
Steve Fastook, V.P. Technical and Commercial Operations, CNBC said: "Our philosophy is to place tools into the hands of the creative personnel and to handle video as data wherever possible. CNBC is the leader in business news and we now have the capability to handle graphics in that fashion. As networked tools, Dekos readily interoperate with CNBC's data resources to provide up-to-the minute on air graphics. By being readily available on journalists' desktops, complete stories move quickly and with a greater degree of accuracy than ever before possible."
The extensive installation includes 9 FXDeko II systems and 4 seats of PostDeko all fully supporting Pinnacle's DekoMOS capability.
In addition, CNBC uses Pinnacle DekoCast to generate its signature two-line information ticker. Thunder clip/still servers and DVEXCEL DVEs are further employed in the CNBC control room.
