BBC TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT LAUNCH NEW MEDIA COURSES

BBC Training & Development are launching thirty new media courses, covering everything from the basics of web writing to site management, streaming media and the use of graphics, video and audio to enhance web content.
The courses will take place at the BBC’s training centre at Marylebone High Street in central London and have been tailored to meet the requirements of journalists, content producers, web producers/designers and others in the broadcast industry who need to know more about the internet.
The four main areas of new media training available are: Internet Research; Editorial; Site Management and Technology and Graphics, Video and Audio.
The inclusion of new media courses in BBC Training & Development’s portfolio was highlighted in the BBC’s response to the recent report from the Audio Visual Industries Training Group (AVITG), in which the BBC reaffirmed their commitment to increasing the breadth of training available to external clients.
As part of this commitment, the BBC are offering all freelances the opportunity to benefit from a course at a specially subsided rate of 60 per cent if courses are booked and attended before March 31, 2002.
While many of the new media courses are available on scheduled dates, others can be tailored and arranged to meet specific requirements – including on-site at clients locations. (CD)
