Softimage and Soho Editors to hold professional training courses

Softimage have appointed Soho Editors to provide professional training courses of Softimage|XSI software, in response to the accelerating demand for trained animators and artists trained on Softimage's nonlinear 3-D production environment.
The courses will be held at various locations in central London and taught by accredited Softimage trainer Nikki Bridgman. Starting at the end of July 2003, the courses offered are for a range of levels of expertise - Introduction, Intermediate/Transition and Comprehensive courses on the Softimage|XSI software. Courses for Softimage|Behavior, Softimage's behavioral animation tool, will also be offered by Soho Editors in the near future.
The Introduction Course (4 days) is project-based with the aim of quickly building confidence in students and covering the core areas of the software including interface, modelling, using the Render Tree and basic lighting. The Intermediate/Transition Course (4 days) is for animators moving to Softimage from another 3-D package or for Softimage|3D users moving onto the Softimage|XSI software. This course focuses on specific areas of the program including software navigation, scripting editor, nurbs and polygon modelling and the Animation Mixer. The Comprehensive Course (3 days) covers more advanced techniques required to operate at a professional level, including shape animation, constraints and character animation.
The dates for the first training courses, to be held at Tyrell, Foley Street, London, are July 22 - 24 and August 19-21, 2003.
