BBC OPEN UP JOURNALISM TRAINING COURSES

BBC Training & Development have announced that they are opening up journalism training to customers outside the Corporation.
Although the BBC have been providing production, operations and engineering modules to external organisations for a number of years, this is the first time they have offered a full programme of journalism training to non-BBC staff.
Clients will be able to select from a range of scheduled training courses or can opt for personalised modules which cover the range of skills now required of broadcast journalists, whether in radio, TV or online services. Personalised modules will be individually designed to suit the needs of each client.
Simon Shute, Head of Broadcast Training at BBC Training & Development, said: “BBC journalism training has provided the grounding for some of the best broadcast journalists in the world. Until now, we’ve kept it very much in-house, but as our role as the industry’s largest training organisation continues to expand, we believe it is time to share our journalistic skills and experience with others.”
Categories for scheduled courses will include editorial skills, production and technical skills.
Anyone involved in the management, production of news, current affairs or factual programmes can contact Marcelle Arnold at BBC Training & Development for further details. Tel: +44 (0)20 7208 9447 or Email: [email protected]
