Thames appeal for comedy talent to contribute to Digi-Clip TV

THAMES Television have launched a competition for would-be comedians to showcase their talent through the internet.
Applicants should write or film comedy sketches to send in for a new series called ‘Digi-Clip TV’. Advances in digital technology, dropping camcorder prices and easy-to-use editing facilities such as Windows XP on the market mean it is possible for anyone to film, edit and publish their talent.
Digi-Clip TV is not another ‘You’ve Been Framed’ or ‘Kirsty’s Home Videos’, so do not send in ‘caught on camera’ tapes. Digi-Clip TV will only show films and sketches that show off creative comedy talent.
The programme is not just aimed at budding comedians, film enthusiasts, actors and writers – as clips can be made by anyone with a sense of humour and a camcorder and for sketches you only need a keyboard.
A fee of £250 will be paid for every short film or sketch shown and £100 will be paid for every written piece that we produce and show. Your sketches or film should be short, but, most importantly, funny. They can be as short as 10 seconds but no longer than two minutes.
For further information visit www.digicliptv.com or email edited MPEG short comedy sketches or written scripts to [email protected]. If you don't have access to a PC then send VHS or High 8 tapes to Digi-Clip TV, Kiln House, 210 New Kings Road, London SW6 4NZ. (GMcG)
